Job Title: Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer / L3 Network Engineer
Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant experience
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./MCA
Certification: CCNA/CCNP mandatory
Location: Chennai
Work Mode: On-site, Monday–Friday
Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Support: On-call/remote support during critical hours, holidays and extended hours as required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches and network security appliances.

Configure, troubleshoot and maintain firewalls/security configurations, VPNs, access policies and related security infrastructure.

Manage and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, routing and switching infrastructure.

Provide L3 support for complex network incidents and perform root-cause analysis.

Manage servers and infrastructure, including GIS/HEP-related server environments.

Administer and troubleshoot SAN/NAS storage systems.

Manage backup and recovery operations, including monitoring backup jobs and restoration activities.

Support network infrastructure, power infrastructure, physical infrastructure and structured cabling.

Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for hardware/software issues, warranty support and escalation.

Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, configuration changes and system health checks.

Maintain network diagrams, configurations, technical documentation and operational records.

Support disaster recovery/business continuity activities.

Provide on-call support during critical incidents, holidays and extended working hours when required.

Ensure high availability and reliable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure.

Required Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, VLANs, routing and switching.

Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.

Routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP would be advantageous.

Strong knowledge of firewalls, security policies, VPN and network security.

Experience with SAN/NAS storage.

Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.

Server administration and troubleshooting.

Candidate Profile

Mandatory:

B.E./B.Tech./MCA

Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience

CCNA/CCNP certification

Strong enterprise networking experience

Hands-on firewall/network security experience

Good troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred:

Experience with Cisco / Fortinet / Palo Alto or similar technologies

SAN/NAS administration

Backup & disaster recovery

Data-center infrastructure

Server administration

Network monitoring tools

Experience handling L3/escalation support

Good documentation and communication skills
